Pakistan vs Ireland Only Test Day 3 Highlights

Pakistan's low order and bowlers help to top over Ireland in only test match on day 3. First Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf brilliant partnership and then Mohammad Abbas and co. help Pakistan to go on favorite winning test match against Ireland.
Shadab Khan 55 and Faheem Ashraf 83 help Pakistan to post 310/9 before Sarfaraz Ahmad declared the innings.
In reply Ireland all out on 130 and follow on. Pakistan forced Ireland follow on, it was the first time that Pakistan forced any team on follow on in last 16 years. Mohammad Abbas 4 and Shadab Khan 3 wickets were the top bowlers for Pakistan.
After Follow on, Ireland’s openers gave brilliant start to their team. Ed Joyce and Williams Porterfield played great shots all around the wicket. From Pakistan Mohammad Amir was tge unlucky bowler who bowled two magical deliveries to both openers but Sarfaraz Ahmad and Azhar Ali put the easiest catches. On stumps day 3, Ireland are 64/0 with Ed Joyce 39* and Porterfield 25* remained not out.

| Rayudu hundred all but seals play-offs spot for CSK |
Chennai Super Kings all but joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in the play-offs with a dominant win over the leaders of the league. They'll seal their berth should Mumbai Indians lose to Rajasthan Royals in Sunday's second fixture at the Wankhede.
Sunrisers arrived in Pune with a perfect record batting first, having successfully defended118, 132, 146 and 151. Asked to bat first, they put on their highest total of the tournament, but ran into Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu, arguably the best opening combination this IPL.
Watson began the aggression but Rayudu wasn't too far behind. Rayudu capped a remarkable turnaround of a season with his maiden T20 hundred, and Watson fell for 57 off 35. The real damage, arguably, was done by Super Kings bowlers: a returning-from-injury Deepak Chahar at the start of the match to force a slow start on Sunrisers, and then Dwayne Bravo at the end of the innings to convert what looked like a chase of 200 into 180.

Tim Murtagh looked every inch the experienced pro at the top of his mark. Fit and trim, it was clear that this was a man who had delivered tens of thousands of balls in first-class cricket. His robot run-up is that of a man who had been coached to be the most efficient bowler he can be. And then at the crease he delivered medium-fast pace, the first ball, floated away from the bat on a yorker length. Azhar Ali seemed shocked by the full length and just clamped down on it, getting enough to squirt it to the onside.
Then madness. Imam-ul-Haq, who was yet to face a ball in Test cricket, took off on a run that never seemed necessary, or safe. It was the wild panic run of a debutant. And against one of the best-drilled fielding teams in world cricket. Two Irish players - Niall O'Brien from behind the stumps and Tyrone Kane from square leg - flew in with intent for the run-out. And somehow, because of the ball placement and Imam's running, all three found themselves occupying the same space. Imam's head and neck became the sandwich between Kane's torso and O'Brien's hip.
It was a crazy run; it ended up with a near-loss of consciousness for the man who called it. And yet by the end of it, Ireland were the composed ones, and Pakistan looked like the team of debutants.
For the best part of the next eight overs, nothing happened other than Pakistani batsmen trying to run themselves - or knock themselves - out. And then, in the space of eight balls, Ireland suddenly looked like a Test team.
Up until that point, they looked like a well-disciplined first-class side, and so they should, as they have 1254 first-class caps to Pakistan's 816. This is an old new side. Murtagh's mechanical mediums and Boyd Rankin's decent pace looked okay, but there was no real explosion. It was polite.
But then for eight balls it looked different. Rankin's angle into the body upset Azhar, and from the very next delivery, Murtagh got one to straighten on Imam. For the team hat-trick delivery, Haris Sohail found himself standing mid-pitch, pondering philosophical issues when he should have been worried about Stuart Thompson running around and firing the ball at the stumps. A few deliveries later, Asad Shafiq edged just short of slip. And the first ball of Tyrone Kane's debut over was a no-ball, but Pakistan still threatened to contrive a run-out from it.

Royal Challengers Bangalore faced some tough moments against a Delhi Daredevils team that had five players under the age of 24 in a must-win game, but were guided to a comfortable win by their experienced stalwarts Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. It was Royal Challengers' sixth consecutive win at the Feroz Shah Kotla and it knocked Daredevils - who needed three wins from three to reach the par-tally of 12 points - out of contention for the playoffs.
Kohli and de Villiers combined to make 142 of the 182 runs Royal Challengers needed to win after a whirlwind 46 not out from 17-year-old debutant Abhishek Sharma had dragged the home team back into the game after Rishabh Pant's relatively early dismissal for 61. Daredevils even managed to follow this with two early Royal Challengers wickets in the Powerplay, but were powerless after that as the chase was completed with an over to spare.

KKR 31 runs victory help them to keep hopes alive for Playoffs. This match featured all three ingredients, and by the end of it, only one match in all 11 IPL seasons had exceeded its 40-over run aggregate of 459. In the end, Kolkata Knight Riders' total of 245, the fourth highest in IPL history, proved a stretch too far for Kings XI Punjab, who went into the match with at least one batsman too few.
KKR boasted far more depth, and almost all their batsmen fired after they were sent in on a 45-degree Indore afternoon. Sunil Narine and Dinesh Karthik did the bulk of the heavy lifting with half-centuries at 200-plus strike rates, but there were important contributions from Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa and Andre Russell as well, and end-overs cameos from Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill.
There was, in short, no respite for Kings XI, who were also without a key bowler, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, for a significant chunk of the innings. Struck on the hand by a blistering Narine drive while bowling his second over, Mujeeb was off the field for 11.4 overs, and it was too late for him to make any sort of difference by the time he came back to bowl the 16th.
Chasing 246 with a line-up that had Axar Patel at No. 6, Kings XI were even more dependent on their openers than usual. KL Rahul kept them hoping with a 29-ball 66, but by the time he was dismissed in the ninth over, the batsmen at the other end (and extras) had only made 27 for 3 off 25 balls.
Kings XI didn't quite have the batting to chase 153 off the last 11 overs, and though there was some furious hitting from Aaron Finch and R Ashwin towards the end, it was never going to be enough.

Michael Halliday, the former Ireland captain, has a broken pub roof tile on his mantelpiece. It is signed by Imran Khan. Because it was Imran who hit him out of Pagham Cricket ground when playing for Sussex against Ireland in 1977. Imran Khan made a hundred that day.
When Imran bowled all the men were behind square, especially when tailenders Halliday and Podge Hughes were batting. Hughes was fairly quick himself, but Imran was near his peak pace, and 20 miles quicker than most Irish bowlers. Hughes decided to back away when playing Imran, swinging hard and slicing him over third man. Imran just bowled quicker. Hughes was backing away so much, Imran had to bowl very wide down the leg side just to bowl at him. Hughes ducked, and the ball hit him and flew away for four leg byes.
Ireland had to chase 200. Opener John Short made 99, but it was Hughes at the crease again who got them over the line with three wickets in hand

A gritty Rajasthan Royals prevailed at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur after Jos Buttler orchestrated sensational chase on a tough pitch to keep them alive in the tournament with a four-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. On Friday (May 11), chasing 177, Buttler started off strong, but despite being set back by fatigue as the innings progressed, he didn't relent, reaching his highest IPL score of an unbeaten 95 off just 60 balls to give Rajasthan a much-needed win.

Good call to bat first by Dhoni?
It was a good wicket to bat on in the first ten overs after which it got slower and the ball started to grip. Suresh Raina was stellar once again, getting to another IPL fifty, but after his wicket, things slowed down considerably for Chennai. Yet, they managed to finish with 176 on the back of late cameos from MS Dhoni and Sam Billings, who added 55 for the fourth wicket.
How good is Raina?
There is a reason why Stephen Fleming, the Chennai coach, had said that Raina cannot be replaced. You only can find ways to minimise his loss. Another IPL season, and another one with him surpassing the 300-run mark for the season - something that he has done in all 11 editions now. Against Rajasthan Royals, especially, he has scored the most runs by any player in 19 innings, accumulating 557 runs, with four half-centuries. He also crossed the 4000-run landmark en route his 35-ball 52.
On the night, after the early departure of Ambati Rayudu, who is in the middle of his best IPL season yet, Raina took it upon himself to bring CSK back into the contest with an 88-run stand with Shane Watson for the second wicket. Raina started off his innings with a boundary off Jofra Archer. He rotated the strike effectively in his 35-ball stay - with just eight dots and boundaries which came early on, but dried out towards the end of his innings. He fell in the 13th over with 119 on the board.
How then did CSK get 176?
Thanks to the Dhoni-Billings stand. After Raina's dismissal, only 15 runs were scored off three overs with both batsmen taking their time to acclimatise and with Rajasthan's bowlers bowling the slower ones and making the most of the sluggish pitch, it was a tough job for the batsmen. Yet, the pair managed a 50-run stand - one that had lots of running between the wickets with the pair only managing four fours and a six between them. Archer was once again among the wickets, but he was taken for 42 off his four for two wickets but had bowled five wides and a no ball.
One would've thought CSK should've got to much more than the total they managed after the start, yet with the slower ones from Ish Sodhi, who bowled exceptionally on the night to finish with 1 for 29, and the offcutters that sat in the pitch, they did well to get there. And factoring in the number of spin options that CSK had to offer, it was going to be a tough task for Rajasthan.
Did the Stokes experiment pay off?
No. Ben Stokes hasn't had the greatest of IPLs. He has been there and thereabouts with his scores and outings with the ball even. On the rare occasion this season that he bowled his quota of overs, he was also, for the first time in his T20 career, promoted to open the innings alongside Jos Buttler. Rajasthan came out with the right intent of attacking the new ball because it would become so much harder once the ball becomes softer. Buttler attacked from the onset, kickstarting the innings with three consecutive fours off David Willey.
It was little surprise that Harbhajan Singh was brought in to bowl from the other end up front. Buttler, however, dispatched him two fours and a six as Rajasthan were off to the perfect start. It was, however, in Harbhajan's second over that Dhoni had claimed for Stokes's catch. The soft signal was out, but on referral, the replays showed that the ball hit the ground before the 'keeper could collect the rebound. What followed thereafter was a four and a six. And then he was cleaned up off the next ball, departing for 11 in the fourth over.
CSK's bowlers were on point, but just short
Dhoni mixed up his bowlers with Jadeja, Karn Sharma and Shardul Thakur curbing Buttler down while wickets fell at the other end. Ajinkya Rahane departed in the over after Stokes and Sanju Samson, just as his stand with Buttler was gaining some momentum, was caught ball watching, ending a 46-run stand. In the meantime, Buttler reached his fourth successive fifty this season off just 26 balls, keeping RR well ahead of the required run-rate. But as the innings progressed it became considerably tougher, as the required rate went over 10. Yet, they bowled full when they should've stuck to a back of a length, which were hard to put away.
But the key remained with Buttler
38 were required off the last three overs. Conditions favoured the bowling unit; Buttler, hampered by fatigue. Yet, Buttler, unbeaten on 77 then, had Stuart Binny for company on 16. It was Binny's best chance to validate his place in the side, having played just the two games prior to this game, despite the key laying with Buttler. Binny fell in the 18th over after hauling a length ball from Dwayne Bravo for a six. Bravo, who had conceded just 9 in his first two overs, picked up Binny with a full toss that should've been dispatched too, but the batsman had chipped in with a handy 22, that was significant in the larger scheme of things in the end. Two balls later CSK could've had the match outcome sealed, but Buttler was handed a life by Dhoni, who dived to his left but couldn't hold on.
Chennai to Pune for a Sunrisers's test on May 13, while Rajasthan are off to Mumbai to face off against MI on the same day. The win however keeps Rajasthan glued to the sixth place on the points table, tied along with Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on 10 points, while Chennai are still second, four points shy of SRH.
Brief scores: Chennai Super Kings 176/4 in 20 overs (Shane Watson 39, Suresh Raina 52, MS Dhoni 33; Jofra Archer 2-42) lost to Rajasthan Royals 177/6 in 19.5 overs (Jos Buttler 95*, Stuart Binny 22) by four wickets.
